Getter & MUST DIE! – “Amy’s Bakery” (FREE DL!!) [Dubstep//Drumstep]

Getter

Two huge Firepower Records here have collaborated on this brand new extremely filthy- and yes, extremely funny- track. It’s the homies Getter and MUST DIE!, both of which it’s no secret that we’re big fans of here at Funkadelphia. Finally Philadelphia will have the pleasure of hosting the great Getter at SoundGarden Hall on Thursday, June 7th, and oh man am I excited for the filth fest he’s going to deliver. Don’t expect the most quality tune here, but definitely still expect some good laughs and some good whomps, and a good ol’ FREE download!!

Zomboy (feat. Lady Chann) – “Here to Stay” [Dubstep//Moombahcore]

Zomboy - Here to Stay

Zomboy‘s always crushing it, whether its behind the turntables or behind the production software. His last release was The Dead Symphonic EP before he came rampaging through SoundGarden Hall to bring in one epic Halloween for Philly. Now the UK producer and Never Say Die Records artist is back with a new single, featuring the vocals of Lady Chann, titled “Here to Stay”. It’s an upbeat, heavy-hitting moombahcore track, chocked full of that grimey Zomboy bass we all know and love. Enjoy!

Butch Clancy – “A Beautiful Mind” (FREE DL!!) [Trap//Bass]

Butch Clancy - A Beautiful Mind

I think we’re all getting pretty excited for tomorrow (Friday, January 4th), as SoundGarden Hall and Steez Promo bring an incredible lineup to Philadelphia. Now I’ve witnessed 3 of these four acts in action already, and they’ve all been truly fulfilling each time: Designer DrugsTwo Fresh and Run DMT. But probably the one I’m most excited about, and the one that’s still managed to elude me thus far, is Butch Clancy. We’ve shared many tunes from the talented Detroit producer, including an Artist Spotlight; but what we haven’t heard yet from Butch is a solid trap tune. And just like his dubstep, Butch Clancy’s trap is far from typical. “Exceptional” doesn’t even begin to hit the nail on the head; and as always, it’s totally FREE!!

The Firepower Tour Hits Philly – Let’s Talk Terravita (FREE DLs!!) [Dubstep//Bass]

Tonight is a good night for those of us who enjoy bass madness. Datsik‘s Firepower Tour (supporting his new Firepower Records label) finally hits Philadelphia, at the mighty new SoundGarden Hallfor the final date of the tour. Now, while Datsik is a name we are all familiar with (or at least should be… and if you’re not, what are you doing on my website? :b) The point is, I’m not here today to talk up Datsik, because we all know he’s going to throw down. Instead, I want to talk about one of my personal favorite bass production groups, and the act that will be going on just before Datsik: Terravita. The Boston trio has been making noise for quite some time now, and they were just one of several incredible additions to Firepower Records, on which they released their The Power of Fire EP. Believe me when I say “you do NOT want to miss these guys”. I’ve put just a few reasons down below, enjoy!!

What’s Happening Philadelphia? – Saturday, October 13th

Borgore w/ The White Panda @ Theatre of the Living Arts [8PM//$23]

If you’re a basshead like us, you probably already know about the face-melting show that will be appearing at the Theatre of the Living Arts this Saturday: Borgore. The Israeli dubstep producer, and ex-metal drummer, is making his return to Philadelphia to blast faces and blow speakers. If you’re familiar with Borgore’s music, then I probably don’t have to explain the grimefest that you’re all in for; but if you’re not, I’ve included a little clip from last year’s throw down (at the very same venue)!

Nadia Ali w/ Starkillers @ SoundGarden Hall [8:30PM//$20]

However, the reality is simply that we are not all bass heads. So, if you’re looking for a more chilled out night of great dance tunes- and honestly, a way sicker venue- then you definitely want to check out SoundGarden Hallwhere the man Jack Deezl will be opening for the mighty Nadia Ali, also alongside Starkillers. SoundGarden Hall is new on the map in Philadelphia, and their opening night with Figure was absolutely phenomenal. With an incredibly stacked lineup, and one of the nastiest in-house light setups I’ve seen in a venue thus far, the night promises to be packed full of good times.

Figure – “Super Sonic Brain Waves (VIP Mix)” (FREE DL!!) + Figure Live @ SoundGarden Hall Re-Cap & Video!! [Drumstep//Grime]

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve literally just been surviving this week by running off the adrenaline from Figure Saturday night. If you weren’t there, it was the opening night for SoundGarden Hall, and I don’t think it could have gone off better! With The Killabits opening, the night was already off to an incredible start; the Canadian duo dropped plenty of their own filth, as well as a few favorites before capping off their set with “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. But then it was Figure’s turn, and as I’ve said time and time before, the Indiana drumstep destroyer doesn’t play around. This was my second time seeing Figure live and I can say whole-heartedly that it only got better. SoundGarden Hall also built the night up to be one of the most insane parties the city of Philadelphia has yet to see. Among a slew of new stuff Figure gave the other night though was his “Super Sonic Brain Waves (VIP Mix)”, which he just dropped for FREE  on his Soundcloud this morning!! I love the way he plays with those BPMs. Ok, I’ll just leave you with some last words from Figure himself: “Philly is the shiiiiiit”.

Figure – “Super Sonic Brain Waves” (FREE DL!) + Brain Waves Tour Announcement!! [Drumstep//Grime]

Definitely one of my favorite grime artists right now, Figure has been dominating the scene lately with his fast-paced drumstep madness. He announced just a little bit ago, via his Twitter, that the rest of his EPs this year would be free. I guess that applies to some of his tracks too, because he just gave up this brand new single for free today!  The track is called “Super Sonic Brain Waves” and goes along with the theme of his upcoming Brain Waves Tourwhich will be stopping in Philadelphia with The Killabits September 22nd at SoundGarden Hall! So turn up the drumstep and tear it up; FIGURE’S COMING TO GET YOU!!
