Drop Goblin – The Gate EP [Dubstep//Moombahcore]

Drop Goblin - The Gate EP

It’s been a while since we’ve had something new to share with you guys from Northeast producer Drop Goblin, but this new release is sure to satisfy your bass craving. Drop Goblin has been our radar for quite some time now and it’s great to see him starting to get some serious recognition. The Gate EP was released through Ultragore Records, who have housed plenty of releases from many of our favorite filthy artists, including J.Rabbit, Mantis and plenty more. The album’ demonstrates strong influences from dubstep, moombahcore, and yes, metal. Enough’s been said; get those speakers turned up and the music blastin’!

The Noise Monkey – “Festival Season Mix 2013″ (FREE DL!!) [Dubstep//Bass]

The Noise Monkey

Let’s keep it going with some more local music, this one, a mix from Philadelphia DJ and producer The Noise Monkey. As well all know, festival season is on the horizon- it’s even already started for some of us- and with that in mind, I think we could all always use a good mix of bumpin’ tunes to get our excitement pumping. The Noise Monkey has a really unique sound to his bass music; he keeps it nice and filthy, but has a lot of funky off-beat tempos, something he calls “monkeystep”. We’ve shared a couple of his tracks here before, but this mix really shows off this producer’s sound and his exemplary mixing skills too. Plus it’s all yours totally FREE through his Soundcloud! Enjoy!

TC – “New Style (Dirt Monkey Remix)” (FREE DL!!) [Moombahton//Trap]

New Style (Dirt Monkey Remix)

Dirt Monkey has always been one of my favorite bass producers from the Midwest. He’s absurdly diverse; when I first found him I knew him for his filthy dubstep, but I soon grow to know him as a producer of moombahcore, electro house, drumstep, and just about any other heavy bass genre. He’s certainly proved himself amongst the bass community, having released several works through Play Me Too Records. But today the Colorado producer has something really new and joyfully dancey for you guys. This tune starts of with some bumpin’ moombahton, but I have to think the track really hits its stride around 2:25 when the trap bass comes in. But I’ll let you guys decide for yourself; this tune’s an insane one. And don’t forget to take advantage of that FREE download!

ProtoHype – See No Evil EP [Drumstep//Dubstep]

See No Evil

When talking about drumstep, it’s tough not to bring up Datsik‘s Firepower Records, and for good reason. In the last two months they have spoiling us with an onslaught of filth with EPs from Datsik and AFK, and a full album from Getter, and it still continues to get better! Today, LA producer Protohype released his newest EP, See No Evil EP, and it is absolutely relentless! With collaborations with artists such as Getter, ETC!ETC!Init, and Kezwik, its no surprise that this EP covers such a range of styles, from heavy drumstep to some moombah/trap, while still maintaining that disgusting filth we all enjoy so much! Now turn up those speakers and get ready to be taken over yet again by Firepower Records!

Alvin Risk – “Skyclad” [Dubstep//Moombahcore]

Alvin Risk - Skyclad

Alvin Risk never disappoints. And his versatility is undeniable, having played all up and down the bass music spectrum from dubstep, to moombahton, to heavy moombahcore, some electro house and pretty much anything else you can name in the range. Of course, I’m most partial to his dubstep stuff, which is why this new track, “Skyclad” is an absolute delight. Anything OWSLA Records serves up seems to have a really dark and evil feel to it, something Alvin carries through on his tracks really well. It’s definitely seen on his face-melting remix of “Eyes”, but this track has that same dark sinister stomach-twisting feel before it launches a wall of gut-wrenching bass turbulence at you. Head over to iTunes to scoop this one up right away!

Zomboy (feat. Lady Chann) – “Here to Stay” [Dubstep//Moombahcore]

Zomboy - Here to Stay

Zomboy‘s always crushing it, whether its behind the turntables or behind the production software. His last release was The Dead Symphonic EP before he came rampaging through SoundGarden Hall to bring in one epic Halloween for Philly. Now the UK producer and Never Say Die Records artist is back with a new single, featuring the vocals of Lady Chann, titled “Here to Stay”. It’s an upbeat, heavy-hitting moombahcore track, chocked full of that grimey Zomboy bass we all know and love. Enjoy!

Everyone celebrates Valentine’s Day differently. Some people are going on dates, others are staying at home wishing they had dates, and others are taking advantage of the holiday by looking at the sick new free music getting dropped for the special occasion. Dillon Francis decided to use the holiday as the day to drop his VIP of his already fire track that has just been destroying shows lately, “Bootleg Fireworks (The Rebirth)”! On top of releasing this amazing rework, the LA producer has decided to give it out for FREE!! But this offer will not last long. The song is available for free download for today only! Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this one!!

2013 Festival Preview: Electric Forest – Full, Official Lineup Announcement!!

E Forest 2013

Last week in our festival preview we discussed one of the titans: Coachella. Well this week, we’ve got the lineup for another indisputably mighty name when it comes to the music festival world. Yes, I’m talking of course about Electric Forest, up in beautiful Rothbury, Michigan. The festival is put on each year by one of the oldest (and easily most classic) jam bands in the game: The String Cheese Incident. If you don’t know about these guys- especially if you enjoy jam music- you need to get out to a show; and The Forest is the perfect opportunity, offering a show from the Boulder, Colorado group all three nights of the festival. Not to mention an incredible supporting lineup, including Pretty Lights, Passion Pit, Knife Party, Lotus, Beats Antique, A-Trak, Grimes, Holy Ghost!, EOTO, Kill the Noise, Emancipator, Baauer, NOISIA, Michal Menert, Suckerpunch, Up Until Now, Moon Hooch, Helicopter Showdown, and yes, plenty more (not to mention that wonderful side not of “plus more to be announced”). I know we’re hoping to make this our first trip to the forest, and we certainly hope to see some friendly faces there!

Rico Tubbs & Will Power – Temple of Doom EP [Moombahton//Trap]

Rico Tubbs & Will Power - Temple of Doom EP

Definitely one of the mightiest labels out their, DOOM Musicbrainchild of Figure- just put out their latest release. It’s a three track EP featuring both Rico Tubbs and Will Power. All three tracks experiment with mixing and crossing over between the moombahton and trap genres. Although, as you would most likely expect from a monstrous label such as DOOM Music, the bass on this release is nice and dirty; putting these tracks more in the “moombahcore” category than straight moombahton. Nonetheless, I’m loving this whole thing, and you guys will too; get to it!!
