It’s time to get back on the local music track. And there could not be a better way then with this hot new two-tack Earth Eyes EP from one of our Philly favorites, Speaker for the Dead. It’s always good to have constant reminders of how hard the Philadelphia collective Glitch Squad is killing it, and it’s impossible to not be reminded with how often these guys are putting out amazing new material. “Earth Eyes” definitely takes the cake for me here, a high-energy trapped out track with still a large amount of glitch-hop stylings and an overall unique perspective on the genre that gives it that true future bass feel we have come to love and expect from Glitch Squad. That being said, do not even think about skipping over “Escape Velocity”. And what better reason not to than that this EP is FREE like almost all of Glitch Squad’s music. Enjoy!!

So we just posted the Sonic Bloom 2013 lineup and festival announcement, and among their list of incredible artists is a man that has been doing up the breakbeat game for a long time now. I am of course referring to the great ill.Gates. The San Francisco native producer has done work with many incredible producers, including the mighty Bassnectar, as well as Beats Antique, Samples, Opiuo, Datsik and plenty more. I think that list of collaborations actually gives a good representation of ill.Gates’ versatility and production prowess. He covers anything from dubstep, to glitch-hop, to straight breakbeat, hip-hop beats, and just about anything in between. He’s giving away this new “Re:Mix:Tape” completely FREE, which is truly an anomaly as the mix is packed full of fresh, bassed-out tunes.

Elephant Blue experiments with the chiller side of electronic, producing tunes that range anywhere from minimal, to glitch, to downtempo, to hip-hop and just about any other genre you could think to bring into the fusion. Elephant Blue just dropped his new track “Mind Mazes”- for FREE! mind you- but I’ve put together a couple tracks here to truly showcase his style and variance within it. The bass music world has truly exploded over the passed few years, resulting in a wide spread of different approaches to different genres, and generally different sounds. But a few talented producers shown through the crowds of self-proclaimed “DJs” even early on, and still to this day deliver heavy doses of relentless filth. Eptic is undeniable one of these producers. The Belgian producer and Never Say Die Records artist’s newest release has finally officially hit the shelves. The Mastermind EP presents three heavy new tracks ranging from the dubstep to drumstep ranges, and of course a fourth obligatory trap song. This EP doesn’t come a moment too soon though, with Moonrise Festival just a month away, and Eptic now officially added to the lineup!!

If you’re into glitch-hop at all, I’m sure PANTyRAiD is a name that’s made it to your eardrums. The production duo is composed of DJ/producers Ooah and MartyParty. As if these guys weren’t talented enough on their own, you wouldn’t believe the kind of heat they can bring when producing together. It’s been a while since PANTyRAiD dropped some new music, so the announcement of their new album Pillowtalk to be released May 28th is certainly huge news. But what’s even huger news is that they’ve dropped the first track from the album, “That’s the Spot”, to get us hyped; and it hits hard! On top of that, the duo also released a remix, for FREE, as a thank you to the fans and an extra pep up for the release not too long ago (we haven’t posted it yet, so here you go). And be sure to keep your eyes out for more new music from PANTyRAiD, as they will be dropping a new track from the album every week until its release!

It’s time to turn the bass up for some Philly favorite. PLS DNT STP just dropped their new My Chain EP through the incredible Play Me Too Records. The EP features two brand new tracks, as well as a radio mix of the second. It opens up with “My Chan”, which starts off with that kickin’ bass and trap feel, before bringing in some bass wobbles to give it a trapstep sound. Then “Step Into the Night” kicks it up with the really heavy bass and the straight forward dubstep sound, but man does this track kick. Enjoy!

When it comes to smooth kicking glitch-hop and mellow bass music, An-Ten-Nae is certainly a name to be recognized. He just recently released his debut album Raindrops on Roses, to amazing reception and for obvious reasons if you’ve given it a listen. He dropped this new, FREE track through his Soundcloud today to help support the album. “When I Shut My Eyes” has a strong hip-hop basis, but with a lot of glitch and trip-hop influence, giving the track a really spacey and psychedelic feel.
