It’s time to get back on the local music track. And there could not be a better way then with this hot new two-tack Earth Eyes EP from one of our Philly favorites, Speaker for the Dead. It’s always good to have constant reminders of how hard the Philadelphia collective Glitch Squadis killing it, and it’s impossible to not be reminded with how often these guys are putting out amazing new material. “Earth Eyes” definitely takes the cake for me here, a high-energy trapped out track with still a large amount of glitch-hop stylings and an overall unique perspective on the genre that gives it that true future bass feel we have come to love and expect from Glitch Squad. That being said, do not even think about skipping over “Escape Velocity”. And what better reason not to than that this EP is FREE like almost all of Glitch Squad’s music. Enjoy!!
So we just posted the Sonic Bloom 2013lineup and festival announcement, and among their list of incredible artists is a man that has been doing up the breakbeat game for a long time now. I am of course referring to the great ill.Gates. The San Francisco native producer has done work with many incredible producers, including the mighty Bassnectar, as well as Beats Antique, Samples, Opiuo, Datsik and plenty more. I think that list of collaborations actually gives a good representation of ill.Gates’ versatility and production prowess. He covers anything from dubstep, to glitch-hop, to straight breakbeat, hip-hop beats, and just about anything in between. He’s giving away this new “Re:Mix:Tape” completely FREE, which is truly an anomaly as the mix is packed full of fresh, bassed-out tunes.
Anyone else feeling mellow on this beautiful Summer night? Anyone else trying to get their funky groove on? Well let me tell you, LabRat knows the feeling. The Santa Cruz producer just dropped this fresh new glitch-hop track on as a little thank you leading up to the release of his new Strange Nights EP. If you haven’t already noticed, the glitch-hop scene is making some serious moves in the bass and EDM world, and we’re all about it. I hope you guys are with us here, because this production shows off some serious talent. Oh, did we mention it’s FREE!? Enjoy!
Oh man is it a beautiful day for music. Let’s take a break from the heavy, cause I’ve got some real nice funky tunes for you guys here. I’m sure many of you already know this, but Philadelphia is actually the home of talented producer The Polish Ambassador. He’s been throwing down groovy sets here in The City of Brotherly Love for years now, and I think I can speak for most people when I say it’s good to see him starting to get some serious national and global recognition. His newest album, Ecozoic, was released just a few days ago and features a humongous roster of new grooves. It’s actually a double album, so there’s plenty to choose from, and plenty of time to pass while jamming out to these funky tunes. Not to mention, TPA is actually being generous enough to give away the album at the “name your price” album. So if you’re broke, that means you can snag it for FREE; but hey, show some love for your local talent and give this man the support he deserves! Enjoy!
I could not be more hype about posting this. The North Carolina based production duo, known as Archnemesis, just dropped this fresh new remix on the world. It’s a throwback of a tune, but with a hot new glitch-hop spin on it. The City of Brotherly Love has been blessed to host these guys twice in the passed year, most recently at Red Sky, and it’s safe to say these guys really know what they’re doing behind the decks. And of course you know we’ve got you on the FREE download! Kick out the jams!!
Make way for some local music!! JXLBeats left us absolutely stunned with his first release, the I Go Where the Trees Go EP. The Philadelphia producer demonstrated his ability to play with trap and trill elements to create beautiful soundscapes made for sunny day chilling. Well today we are happy to present you with the follow-up, The Art of the Chop EP. It’s got 8 new tracks of beating goodness, and a whole lot to offer. If you like it gangster, then check out “Robberies, Aggies, Attempts and Extortion”; if you like it funky, then I’ll have to recommend “Make Your Bread”; and if you like it chill, well you’ve got the rest of the EP to choose from. So turn that bass up, let the 808s kick, and let JXLBeats ride you off into the blue skies.
Now I know some of you love the heavy bass just as much as we do. So I think I have to share this hard-hitting new track from Kinzy. The European producer, hailing from Wales, has a style that combines dubstep with glitch-hop, resulting in a incredible heavy dubstep-breakbeat fusion. This new track, “Kill a Soundboy” is an excellent example, with bass that’s sure to get you whomping, and a beat that’s sure to get those feet jigging. Plus it’s available to snag totally FREE! Enjoy!
I’m here today to talk to you about a very talented Philadelphia producer that has caught my ear lately. Elephant Blue experiments with the chiller side of electronic, producing tunes that range anywhere from minimal, to glitch, to downtempo, to hip-hop and just about any other genre you could think to bring into the fusion. Elephant Blue just dropped his new track “Mind Mazes”- for FREE! mind you- but I’ve put together a couple tracks here to truly showcase his style and variance within it. If you’re looking for some chill, spacey beats, look no further.
If you’re into glitch-hop at all, I’m sure PANTyRAiD is a name that’s made it to your eardrums. The production duo is composed of DJ/producers Ooahand MartyParty. As if these guys weren’t talented enough on their own, you wouldn’t believe the kind of heat they can bring when producing together. It’s been a while since PANTyRAiD dropped some new music, so the announcement of their new album Pillowtalk to be released May 28th is certainly huge news. But what’s even huger news is that they’ve dropped the first track from the album, “That’s the Spot”, to get us hyped; and it hits hard! On top of that, the duo also released a remix, for FREE, as a thank you to the fans and an extra pep up for the release not too long ago (we haven’t posted it yet, so here you go). And be sure to keep your eyes out for more new music from PANTyRAiD, as they will be dropping a new track from the album every week until its release!
When it comes to smooth kicking glitch-hop and mellow bass music, An-Ten-Nae is certainly a name to be recognized. He just recently released his debut album Raindrops on Roses, to amazing reception and for obvious reasons if you’ve given it a listen. He dropped this new, FREE track through his Soundcloud today to help support the album. “When I Shut My Eyes” has a strong hip-hop basis, but with a lot of glitch and trip-hop influence, giving the track a really spacey and psychedelic feel.
