Okay, so I am here today to deliver the welcoming news of a beautiful festival, in the far away amazing world of Colorado. That festival would be Sonic Bloom, and while it may be a bit of a track for our Philadelphia readers, the festival represents an aspect of the electronic music that we don’t see a lot of representation for here in The City of Brotherly Love. The lineup displays a wide array of music that could be classified as anywhere from psy-trance, to dub, glitch-hop, electrofunk, simply bass, or just about anything else in that spectrum that comes to mind. The festival will be taking place from June 13th-16th this Summer, in it’s homespot of Shadow’s Ranch in Georgetown Colorado. With a whopping array of artists including Opiuo, VibeSquaD, Random Rab, Minnesota, The Polish Ambassador, Bluetech, Orchard Lounge, Phutureprimitive, TRUTH, Andreilien (previously known as Heyoka), ill.Gates, Wick-It the Instigator, Love & Light, Govinda, Thriftworks, Robotic Pirate Moneky, Unlimited Aspect (Unlimited Gravity and Project Aspect), Russ Liquid, Cry Wolf and still plenty more, this festival bleeds an amazing time. Cry Wolf and Aylen - Silence Pt. II

We’ve got an interesting collaboration for you guys here today from two East Coast artists. The first is one you’re probably familiar with if you’ve been with us a while: North Carolina producer and musician Cry Wolf. He’s been on our radar for a while now, and actually just signed with Le Castle Vania‘s label, Always Never Records. Having collaborated on this track, which is released through the new label, with local New Jersey producer Aylen. The influence of the two artists blend together in a way that creates a very unique and original sound, almost like an upbeat trancey anthem, except with this deep, churning level of bass-filled filth grumbling below the synth line. And of course you can snag it up FREE! Get at it!

If for some reason you haven’t heard of the North Carolina duo Cry Wolf, now is a great time to break that trend. Ever since I heard these guys, I thought they were the freshest and newest approach to dubstep since Zeds Dead began their impressive stint with their remix of “Eyes on Fire” back in 2009. And just like that track, with the new Cry Wolf remix of “Ballad of Broken Birdie Records”, it’s really difficult to bring yourself to simply call this a “dubstep” track, because there’s just so much more to it. The wobbles are far and few between, and while the BPM is there, the track strays far from what the average listener would call “EDM”. I stand firm on my position: Cry Wolf is a force to be reckoned with.

Cry Wolf is definitely a name that’s been on the rise lately. And what’s more impressive is that they’re probably one of the biggest names out of Raleigh, North Carolina at the moment. We posted two of their original tracks (“No Deezies” and “Ephermal”) way back in March, and their remix of “Get Free”, the Major Lazer anthem received much attention from not only us but several other sites and blogs as well. All that said, I think I can fairly say this new remix of “Need Your Love”, originally by Adventure Club, is one of the duo’s dirtiest tracks to date. I say that with confidence as I’m usually tentative about house, but this track is absolutely insane. Enjoy!

Robotic Pirate Monkey – Colors In Disguise: Remixed [Full FREE Remix Album]

So if you aren’t familiar with Robotic Pirate Monkey, then let me give you a little background. The group is composed of three members from Boulder, CO and their music spans the lengths of dubstep, glitch-hop and just general bass. Their debut album, Disturbing Pleasant Streets, was absolutely incredible, since following it with Jungle Tales Vol. 1, the Sidetracked EP, and finally the original of this album, Colors in Disguise. Now they’ve given some other artists the opportunity to play around with the glitched out, bassy tracks on Colors in Disguise, and they’ve come out with this: Colors in Disguise: Remixed. The album features the likes of CRNKN, TYR, Cry Wolf, Rodway and Lazerdisk Party Sex among others. And you know what the absolute best part of this album is? It’s ENTIRELY FREE!! So grab it up, give it a listen, and give your allegiance to the Robotic Pirate Monkey!

Cry Wolf  is an up and coming production/drummer duo from North Carolina. They caught my eye (or maybe I should say ear), a couple months ago, sometime back in the Winter. Ever since, I’ve been a huge fan. The two put together an interesting and unique EDM sound that’s consistently blended with elements of downtempo and deep glitch. This new one, however, is a moombahcore remix of Major Lazer‘s hit track, “Get Free”. This one still has some really crunchy, scratched out bass like a lot of their music. Just give it a listen and you’ll see.

Cry Wolf – “No Deezies”

Cry Wolf is a group I’ve wanted to post some music from for a while now. Just last night they were feeling so grateful to their fans that they decided to give us their new original mix, “No Deezies”. So, this seems like a pretty opportune time to talk about them. Hailing from North Carolina, Cry Wolf has been putting out some really sick electronic tracks the past few months. Their style combines elements of minimal, dubstep, electro and even reggaeton at times. I want to also call special attention to their track “Ephermal”, which is one of my personal favorites. These guys are definitely someone to keep your eyes on in 2012. Enjoy!
