STS9 – Wakarusa 2013 Main Stage Set (FREE DL!!) [Jam//Electronic]

If you made it to Wakarusa a couple weeks ago, or even if you couldn’t make the trip to Mulberry Mountain, we have just the thing for you today! Sound Tribe Sector 9, or simply STS9, had two scheduled sets for the festival, but due to severe weather and storm watches both sets were cut short. To make up for the disappointment, STS9 decided today to release their Main Stage set from the first day for FREE download, and this set definitely will not disappoint! Even though this is only half of their scheduled set, it has plenty of range, and plenty of energy to get you excited for what they have in store for the remainder of their very busy festival season. So now’s the time to sit back, relax, and enjoy this free gift as a thank you to everyone who came out and survived the weather of “Swamparusa”!!

This one managed to slip passed us doing our travels to Arkansas, but it’s an undeniably awesome track from an undeniably awesome producer. Russ Liquid has found his way on to our radars, and for good reason. The 1320 Records artist has been making a lot of noise with his production, which tends to crossover between dubstep and glitch-hop. This new track, “Butterfly Moonlight” is a FREE one from the California; nice and chilled out, but plenty of wubs and wobs to get you going. Enjoy!

With the Summer of 2013′s festival season now in full gear, we have effectively have a hefty list of local and national festivals we’re looking forward to with serious intensity. One of the most anticipated for us would have to be this year’s Big Dub Music Festival, held at Four Quarter’s Farm in Artemas, Pennsylvania. This year’s lineup features an eclectic group of everything from filthy dubstep, to mellowed out hip-hop beats, the trans-versing goodnesss of glitch-hop, and just about any other variation on the genre you might be able to name. One of these acts we’re truly excited to see is the mighty production duo in action once again. The Atlanta-based act has been hard at work lately, dropping plenty of awesome new remixes for the Summer festival season, keeping their sets refreshing, and just plain fresh. This one’s another FREE download, courtesy of that good ol’ Southern hospitality!

Schlang is the new collaborative project from Philadelphia producer Space Jesus and his partner in crime, Boston producer Supersillyus. The two have come together the bring us a truly unique and mind-awakening project that’s sure to leave the mind drifting through space. Schlang has just released a teaser for their first track, “Plus or Minus”, as well as a group of tour dates for this Summer. Now this song is supposedly close to a full 10 minutes, so this 5 minute preview is just a small glimpse into the psychedelic adventure that awaits us. Enjoy!

The electronic music world has been progressing in strides lately, and it’s given way to some of the most incredible tunes probably to ever grace the ears of mankind. Well Australian producer Flume is officially checking in with a solid contribution. At this year’s Wakarusa Music Festival, we heard this first track dropped on crowds multiple times, much to everyone’s pleasure. It’s a brand new- and FREE!- edit of Rustie track “Slasherr”, and features of bass-blasting trap feel that’s undeniably feel-good. Then just this morning he hit us with yet another one, a remix of a Disclosure track, this time featuring a more downtempo and glitch-hop feel, but still tons of energy and plenty of groovy-ness. Shortly following his mind-blowing performances at both Wakarusa and Infrasound Music Festivals, Dave Tipper announced that he would be undergoing open-heart surgery this past Wednesday. In efforts to raise money for this pricey procedure, Tipper released a new EP containing three VIP remixes of some of his biggest tracks, with 100% of the proceeds going toward the cost of the surgery. Although we are a couple days behind on getting this posted, we can now inform you that the surgery went well and Tipper is out of the ICU and on his way to a full recovery!! If you have seen any of the Glitch-hop pioneer’s live sets in the past year, you most likely have experienced firsthand how powerful these remixes are; and if you haven’t, here’s your chance! So check out these remixes and support one of the biggest influences in EDM as he makes his recovery! We’ve been on the road a while now, and it’s always awesome to come home to a lot of great, new music. I want to kick this off with a brand new one from Philadelphia producer Tilsonic. When we first heard of this guy, he was putting out a few releases for Glitch Squad, but he’s since made it clear that’s he’s more than just a member of the collective, and instead a force to be reckoned with. It’s going to be impossible to not groove to this new remix, and for goodness sake people it’s FREE! So turn those speakers up and get jamming!

Here’s a release I have literally been on the edge of my seat waiting for, for quite some time. And oh my has Calvertron delivered, exceeding expectations and taking his bass game to a whole other level once again. With his new 50,000 Watts EP he covers everything from his classic heavy dubstep assaults, plenty of hopping moombahcore, some head-banging drumstep and drum & bass, and even some really effective trap and trapstep. Calvertron is one producer I feel I can absolutely always count on to deliver the filth. Please, I urge you, pick up this EP. We’ve got a few clips for you below, but you aren’t doing yourself justice unless you grab this release.

PLS DNT STP is checking in with a crunchy, FREE, new drumstep remix to kick off the Summer. The Philadelphia production seems to always be working on tracks, which is great because there’s always plenty of great opportunities to catch them in action putting their new material to work. Summer seems to finally be in full groove and we could not be more excited. We’ve been real busy getting our bags packed for the tenth annual Wakarusa Music Festival this upcoming weekend. But you know what that means? It means, time to get blasted with a bunch of hot new tunes before we hit the road. Kicking it off, we have one from the Bass Gods; namely, Bassnectar here. And what an awesome choice for a remix; this time he’s taken on the mighty Primus (“PRIMUS SUCKS!”), to deliver a gut-smashing, brain-blasting, face-melting bass overload of an attack on us. I don’t think this could get any heavier, enjoy!
