LowRIDERz – Unplug from the Machine EP + FREE Bonus!! [Glitch-Hop//Bass]

LowRIDERz - Unplug from the Machine EP

When you get a group of talented producers together to work on a collaborative project, the result is almost always impeccable. LowRIDERz is the brainchild of three massive producers in the bass music world: An-ten-nae, Laura Low and Auberon. Together the three have been creating glitched out rhythms that’ll get you groovin’ before you even blink your eyes. The California production supergroup has just put out their new Unplug from the Machine EP, along with a brand new, FREE!, remix of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis‘ “Thrift Shop”. It’s enough music to leave you stunned for a while, so I’ll just let you get started.

1310 Promotions Presents: Archnemesis & Robotic Pirate Monkey @ Red Sky [Friday, March 29th // 9PM // $15+]

Archnemesis & RPM @ Red Sky

Event Info - Event Page // Buy Tickets ($15 Presale!!) // Red Sky

If you live in or around Philadelphia and are a present member of it’s electronic music scene, then you know the scene is ever-present, strong and decently diverse. One genre that has been receiving a serious lack of representation, however, is glitch-hop. And it appears the friends over at 1310 Promotions aim to fix that. This Friday they are bringing two of the nastiest acts in the game to Red Sky here in Philly: Archnemesis and Robotic Pirate Monkey. Archnemesis hails from Charleston, and has a stronger hip-hop influence, with soulful rhythms, live instrumental samples, and massive dubby overlays; while Robotic Pirate Monkey calls Colorado home and has a much more bass-central style that brings the heavy funk. You can actually check out our article on Robotic Pirate Monkey’s brand new Booty Snatch EP as well as check out the tunes. But if that’s not enough to satisfy, we’ve got plenty of other great tunes from these artists for you to sample below. Other support for the show will include Kicks n Licks and Alpha Data. That’s one nice lineup, and honestly, a steal for just $15 (pre-sale tickets only). It all kicks off at 9PM, this Friday, March 29th, and the party will be going all the way to 2AM so be sure to come out with plenty of good energy.

Sugarpill – “You Got” (FREE DL!!) [Trip-Hop//Glitch]

Sugarpill

If you’re looking to get your groove on on this miserable day, then I think I’ve got just the fresh, new tune for you. California producer Sugarpill just dropped this hot new one today, FREE!, through his Soundcloud. Sugarpill has definitely been one of the forerunners in the recent glitch-hop movement. It’s partially in tribute to the fact that he was doing his glitch-hop thang before there was much of a glitch-hop movement to begin with. But the eyes of many are being opened recently and Sugarpill is just one of many absolutely steamrolling through the scene. You can kind of just melt away with the gray day outside with this one; nice and mellow.

Noise Monkey – 3 New Tracks!! (FREE DL!!) [Dubstep//Electro]

noisemonkey

When I wrote the genres in the brackets for this post, it took me a while to decide how I should classify these three new tracks . Local Philly producer The Noise Monkey caught our attention a while ago with his unique sound he simply calls “Monkeystep”, and with every new track he puts out he touches so many different sounds and styles, I think the name is very fitting. The first song is his entry into Zomboy‘s “Here to Stay” remix contest, and if you are diggin’ that Monkeystep, be sure you give this Philly native a vote starting April 9! The other two songs are both refreshing and uplifting, yet still have that perfect amount of funk and filth. They were posted as FREE downloads that seem to be sparked by the cold weather and the anticipation of spring, and they sure are getting me excited for the coming months! Also, we’ve included The Noise Monkey’s recent remix of Au5, Auratic, and I.Y.F.F.E.‘s “Lucky”, which is sure to satisfy any craving for funk you may have had! Now sit back and enjoy these great tunes to keep getting more pumped for FESTIVAL SEASON!!

And if you like what you hear, be sure to check out his soundcloud as it’s filled with loads of other great (and FREE!!) tracks!

Starkey – Inter-Mission EP [Glitch-Hop//Trap]

Starkey - Inter-Mission EP

There’s really a noticeable difference between a good producer and a great producer. When a producer is able to take influence from the ever-changing music world around them, and then add in plenty of their own personal flavor to create something new, unique and just overall quality. Well that’s what Philadelphia based producer Starkey has done here. His new Inter-Mission EP demonstrates an influence from many of the bass genres- trap, dub, glitch-hop- but there’s plenty of original Starkey input. The production is top notch, the tracks are diverse, and the music is great; what else could you ask for?

An-ten-nae – “Raindrops on Roses (Ooah Remix)” [Trap//Glitch-Hop]

Raindrops on Roses (Ooah Remix)

So An-ten-nae just recently released a new Remixes EP, and one of the tracks off it is this blazing hot new remix from The Glitch Mob member Ooah. Recently the LA based producer has been touring with MartyParty - whose new track “Do a Trick” we recently featured- through their collaborative project PANTyRAiD. That’s a lot of name dropping, but these are just all perfect examples of how Ooah has his hands in a little bit of everything, how he remains ever versatile and active, fresh and only improving. This track seems to be Ooah’s take on the recent explosion of 808 necessity on people’s tracks, yet it maintains that strong glitch-hop undertone. Perfect delivery as always from this guy.

ProtoHype – See No Evil EP [Drumstep//Dubstep]

See No Evil

When talking about drumstep, it’s tough not to bring up Datsik‘s Firepower Records, and for good reason. In the last two months they have spoiling us with an onslaught of filth with EPs from Datsik and AFK, and a full album from Getter, and it still continues to get better! Today, LA producer Protohype released his newest EP, See No Evil EP, and it is absolutely relentless! With collaborations with artists such as Getter, ETC!ETC!Init, and Kezwik, its no surprise that this EP covers such a range of styles, from heavy drumstep to some moombah/trap, while still maintaining that disgusting filth we all enjoy so much! Now turn up those speakers and get ready to be taken over yet again by Firepower Records!

Tipper – “Downtempo Mix 2006″ [Downtempo//Glitch-Hop]

Tipper

Alright, so we’ve got a new, old mix from the man himself, Tipper. It’s from back in 2006, but the British producer and DJ just uploaded it to his Soundcloud for easy access. Easily one of the most unique musicians out there in terms of sound, Tipper has been raising a lot of eyebrows recently; not to say that he wasn’t before, but it seems he’s finally coming to national recognition here in the United States. This brand new mix is a clear exhibit as to why; as you can hear from his music, he’s one of the most technical sound designers, as well as one of the world’s most highly demanded sound engineers. His sound is near magical, and certainly mysterious, not to mention blending DJ skills belonging to that of a true master of his trade.

Jack Deezl – “Harbinger” + Tilsonic Remix!! (FREE DLs!!) [Electronic//Future Bass]

Jack Deezl - Harbinger

With the release of his brand new full-length, the Disillusion LP, just a few months out now, Jack Deezl has really been turning up the heat lately. Today we see the release of his latest single from the upcoming album, titled “Harbinger” and featuring a B-side from Glitch Squad artist and contributor, Tilsonic. Both these guys are Philadelphia producers, on a Philadelphia founded and based label, so let’s show these guys some serious love. The original track has a much deeper, more creeping feel, with deep bass that almost feels like it’s swallowing you whole. Meanwhile, Tilsonic decided to really turn up the tempo on us, giving the track a drum & bass like rhythm, with an almost glitch-hop style beat on top. Glitch Squad keeping it real and unique as always.
