Here’s a name we have mentioned before. Though many of you may not be familiar with UK producer Filthzilla, I suggest you get acquainted now, because he is definitely on the rise. Just like in our last post for Filthzilla, this new song “Arcane” is a little more chilled out, but he still knows how to include plenty of filth, giving this track a very unique sound and one I hope to be hearing a lot more of in this young producer’s future. Sit back, crank up the bass, and enjoy.

I have heard countless remixes of Damien Marley’s “Welcome to Jamrock”, but never felt like they did the original justice… That is, until I heard Filthzilla’s remix. He includes plenty of the original, but adds that signature Filthzilla sound that originally got us so interested in his tunes. And the best part is… Both tracks are available for FREE download! But I highly suggest you get over to his soundcloud or check him out on itunes, because he has STRAIGHT FIRE available for purchase. This is definitely an artist worth giving full support to so we can see what else he has in store for the future.

Adventure Club – “Wait”

You can never go wrong with Adventure Club; at least, the conclusion I’ve come too. These guys seem to always be refining and perfecting their sound, and it works because they stand out from the crowd so much. This new track, “Wait” is an original mix, which is something we haven’t gotten from them in a while. But what’s even better, is this isn’t a dubstep track. Now, don’t get me wrong, I, of all people, LOVE my dubstep, but it’s always good to see dubstep artists trying something new, instead of just beating the genre into the ground. This song is a pretty housey, bouncy track; it’s much more upbeat than a lot of their old stuff. It’s definitely a unique sound, as always. See for yourselves.

Gold Panda – “Mountain”/”Financial District”

If you aren’t familiar with Gold Panda (you might recognize his song “You”), he’s a UK producer you should shift your attention to. Although not the typical intensity bring house or dubstep DJ, Gold Panda brings a unique sound to the electronic game just like many of his fellow Ghostly International artists. This new single features two downtempo tracks, with a breathy ambient feel to them. Glitchy snares and bass kick in the background over mellow synths; “Mountain” even features some beautiful mandolin. It’s really a sound you have to hear for yourself to understand, so I’ll let you get to the listening. Enjoy!

BHB – “Faust” + PLS DNT STP Remix

Alright, so we got New York based produced BHB here with a new one for ya. Originally a Philadelphia native, and still associated with the Actual Records crew- who are local to us here in Philly- BHB still knows how to put out a quality track. That’s just what this new one, “Faust” is; it might have a bit more of an underground sound for some of you, but I think it’ll grow on ya. On top of that, BHB released a PLS DNT STP remix along with the song. Also Philadelphia natives, PLS DNT STP have been making some serious noise lately. There remix comes through with some serious dubby goodness.

Both have shows this week so be sure to get out and support these guys; BHB will be performing tomorrow (Wed. 5/30) at The Blockley; and you can catch PLS DNT STP at this weekends Actual Records party Sooper Stoaker (full event details HERE). For now, just kick back and enjoy some tunes though!

Knife Party – Rage Valley EP

I’ve been wondering when we were gonna hear some new material from these guys. It’s about time… the grimy moombahcore/dubstep sounds of Rob Swire’s second brainchild Knife Party are unmatched. This new release from the Australian duo, the Rage Valley EP is everything we hoped for and more. If you know anything about the dubstep scene these days,  it’s hard to have a discussion without the name Knife Party coming up, so I feel these guys really need no introduction. Just buckle up and hope the bass doesn’t know you out of your seat. Enjoy!

Alright, so if that last track from D!RTY AUD!O wasn’t enough for you, we got a  nice large serving of the dancey goodness for you right here. This mix comes from Philly favorite and MadDecent main man, Diplo. Now I’ve said this a million times over now, but Diplo is just absolutely killing the scene, and it’s so good to have him representing Philadelphia. Not only can I not wait to catch him at Bonnaroo in two weeks, where he will be performing as Major Lazer (originally an electronic duo that Diplo has now become the primary mind behind), but Diplo will also be taking the stage Saturday June 2nd at The Roots Picnic. If you enjoy this nice moombah mix from the electronic whiz kid, Wesley Pentz, then be sure to catch one of his shows this Summer. He’s got tours on shows on shows on festivals on block parties on shows on shows on shows; and his performance is always absolutely insane. For now, just kick back and enjoy some smooth tunes!

Alright let’s get our moombah fans excited. This track comes from LA producer D!RTY AUD!O. I know I’ve heard this guy’s name around a few times (although I could just be getting confused with Dirtyphonics and Dirtyloud both in existence), but I hadn’t listened to any of his tracks until this one. Well it’s the newest free download edition to his Soundcloud, and it packs quite a whallop. This drop of this song, I wouldn’t call moombahcore, but the drop is real glitched out almost in a dubstep wobble way, but still in a really cool way. It’s something I think worth hearing from yourself. This one gets a huge thumbs up. It’s songs like this that give me hope that the EDM genres can continue to evolve.

Summer Set Music Festival 2012 (August 24th-26th)

If you’ve always wanted to check out a music festival but couldn’t afford it, then finally, there’s one for you. The Summerset Music Festival is in Wisconsin in late August, and features performances by some of the best electronic acts, jam bands, and several other interesting acts. The greatest part? Well let’s get down to the details: 3 days, ticket cost=$75. Of course you have to tack on the $35 camping pass, but that can be split between up to five people; so this is one damn impressive festival for the cost. Just see for yourselves:

Stimming – “Funkworm (Gramatik Remix)”

I used to be sort of into Gramatik, but after seeing his live set here in Philly a couple months ago, I’m a huge fan. Gramatik is probably one of the most diverse producers around these days; I dare to say possibly on par with the same versatility Diplo carries. I knew him as pretty much a hip-hop/beat producer, with a bit of dub influence. Then the #digitalfreedom ep came out, and Gramatik showed me his much more dubby side. His live set then showed me that he pretty much covered everything in between and even more. This new remix is a pretty mellowed out dub sound; definitely not a hip-hop style track, but no serious wobbles of any sort either. It’s unique, just like all of Gramatik’s tracks, and that’s what we love. Enjoy!

We just posted a song by MadDecent artist Dillon Francis earlier today, and now we’re back with a remix from the head-honcho, Diplo himself. There’s just too much to say about Diplo as a producer; we always have to mention he’s from Philadelphia and give him that shout out, but on top of that, he’s gotta be one of the most well-known and versatile producers out there. He’s covered house to dubstep to moombahton to reggaeton and jungle beats to trap and pretty much every single little thing in between. It’s quite an impressive resume. So, when we saw this new remix of the Sleigh Bells track “Demons”, of course we smacked that play button and gave it a listen. Diplo’s back with more goodness for us! Enjoy!
