If you’re not familiar with Snubluck, he’s definitely someone you should familiarize with, and it’s easy to do so. Charles English (aka Snubluck) is a glitch-hop producer out of Denver, CO. His style interlaces many experimental, psychedelic and even some EDM aspects, creating a very unique composition. Today, he released this remix of Smokey Robinson’s “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me”. It’s a really nice track to pass by this crappy, rainy afternoon. Enjoy!
Oh, by the way: Snubluck’s music is ALL FREE over at his website. But please, give the dude a donation or something. SUPPORT THE ARTISTS!!
Alright really dope, crunk new tune here. This one’s from Colorado native Jantsen in collaboration with LA producer Stephen Jacobs. I love both of these guys and they always bring some whomps that are good to get swag to. Well this one is literally brand new, and it’s a good way to start your afternoon if you’re just getting back from classes. A lot of energy in this one.
Borgore is due to release his new Flex EP on March 5th, so he’s got some new material coming out. If you’re not familiar with Borgore, he’s often considered the metal (metalstep) of dubstep, and actually used to be part of a metal band back in Israel, where he hails from. Apparently, he’s doing a US Flex Tour sometime soon, which is sweet because I just caught him back in the early Winter. Well, I don’t know if this one’s gonna be on the new EP, but it’s a sure dope remix, and it just dropped a couple days ago. Enjoy!
If you remember, we posted the actual “Flex” song from Borgore not too long ago. Well, also major dubstep heavyweight, Figure jumped on that right away. Check out this bonus remix from him, it’s on the same wavelength as that some above, so if you like one, you’ll like both… I’d bet on that.
I didn’t know much about Flinch until I saw him open up for 12th Planet a few short weeks ago. Flinch made it up on stage after the mighty Crizzly, yet still before Kill the Noise and 12th Planet (the man himself). I wasn’t sure what to really expect, but Flinch brought the wobs and the whomps and it was an awesome time. Since, I’ve been scouring Flinch’s soundcloud looking for dope tracks. Well, lucky for us, he just dropped this new EP on SMOG (12th Planet’s label). I can’t find a stream of the full EP anywhere yet, but I’ve got the title track posted below, and you can snag the EP up over at Beatport. Enjoy!
I said it last week and I’ll say it again, I don’t know what it is with artists and Tuesdays, but I love it. See, I finish class at 10:30 on Tuesday, so I return home to collapse in front of my computer and sift through all the new music. This is perfect, because artists frequently release new albums and EPs on Tuesdays. Well, this Tuesday, we have new material from (left to right) the UK indie pop band Fanfarlo, the debut LP from the hip-hop duo known as WZRD (Kid Cudi + Dot Da Genius), and the newest installment from the Ghostly International group School of Seven Bells.
Fanfarlo – Rooms Filled with Light [FUNKADELPHIA PICK OF THE WEEK!]
Out of these three albums, we’re definitely giving this one the biggest thumbs up. So like I said, this is and indie pop album. I just finished up listening to it, and I have to say that while I think my favorite’s of the band’s work is on their first album, this album is much more consistent. The first half starts off a bit slow, but right around the track “Tightrope” is when it starts getting good. From then out, this album is beautiful.

WZRD – WZRD
The new WZRD album is one we had our doubts about. Cudi came out blazin’ (quite literally) on his first album, but I guess that all got to his head or something because I think most can agree something went wrong with that second installment. Well, Cudi clearly did his homework because this new album is absolute fire. I have to say, it’s closer to a rock album than a hip-hop album, but that being said, I think it surpasses his debut LP Man on the Moon. Definitely grab this one too.

School of Seven Bells -Ghostory
This is one that is probably going to get a little lost in the shuffle in this post, but please try not to let it. Just because we put it last doesn’t mean we don’t like it. In fact, we do like it… we like it a lot! School of Seven Bells definitely improved between their first and second albums, and that trend seems to continue here: yes, we would call this their best album yet. If you’re into the whole ambient, dancey, minimal music scene, then definitely check these guys out (especially lovers of Tycho, Phantogram & Lusine)!
Alright, so here’s a REALLY, REALLY EXCITING post. I’ve been aware of this tour for a while, but Dillon Francis just got on Facebook to advertise it (and threw up this magnificent poster), so I figured now seemed like a good time. If you didn’t have a chance to catch Nero in the Winter (we were in that boat- they went to Atlantic City and skipped right over us…), well here’s your second chance. On top of this tour take note that UK duo is performing at the Sasquatch Music Festival this summer. And as I mentioned, Dillon Francis will be the support on this tour, so I’m sure I don’t even have to elaborate to convey the amount of insanity that will be going on at these shows.
I guess Zeds Dead is just really trying to hype up their Living Dead Tour. They’ve just been dropping music and mixes like no one’s business, and they’ve all been great. Not only did they release theAdrenaline EP a few short weeks ago, but since they’ve released countless remixes. Well here’s another one they just gave up today, and they are literally giving it up for free, so definitely snag this one. It’s got that signature Zeds Dead chilled out tone right from the start, and then drops into some real smooth crunches. Enjoy!
This is just a two-track EP, but from the sounds of this preview, it’s gonna be massive. The fullSmoke and Mirrors EP will be released on Wednesday, but for now, we have this 3 1/2 minute preview of the two tracks. Also featured on the album with Messinian are Hulk and Subshock. All three of these artists bring a real nice signature to the tracks and overall this whole preview just brings the whomps. Get psyched for this release Wednesday.
This isn’t new Adventure Club, but it’s still Adventure Club, and that’s enough for me. I’m still running with the energy of seeing the Canadian duo open for Big Gigantic last weekend, and I’ve been binging on the two groups. Well, this is definitely one of the most prominent songs in my rotation. Adventure Club has such a signature style, but there’s no way to really describe it. I feel confident I could almost always pick out one of their songs though. Anyway, just really enjoy this one, it’s nice and laid back… good ol’ morning dubstep.
And be sure to check out Adventure Club on the reminder of their tour!
So one of the big topics of discussion with Skrillex (among other things -_-) is his ability to pump out music at an inhuman pace. I found myself fully understanding this statement when I head his debut LP, Voltage, is due to be released tomorrow. I haven’t even heard any hype about this album really and it’s his debut album? Sure, he’s released plenty of EPs already, but this seems to be some good stuff. He has tons of unreleased material, and the only confirmed track for the album is the debut single “Voltage”. This track hasn’t actually been released on Beatport or anything I don’t think, but I know I’ve heard it quite a few times at shows. It’s actually really nice because it’s some revitalizing Skrillex, and not just the same old sounds; it’s something new to the ear. I have… questionable… expectations for this album. But I’m not gonna deny this track is dope.
